Tomahawk Drifts are not used like a traditional drift. They are designed to be used as a final shaping tool. Holes are either drilled or punched to near the correct size prior to inserting the hawk mandrel and truing the hole.

Use a mid-point on the mandrel to start until you have the size that works best on your handle.
