Pierce it! Punch it! Drift it! Cut it! Slit it! Dimple it! Fuler it! Slice it! Stamp it! Brad it!..........
A forging punch is a hard metal object with a shaped tip at one end and a blunt butt end at the other that is usually struck by a hammer. The most common use of a punch is to cut or punch through a piece of metal to design and fasten it. Sometimes one can use blacksmith punches to form impressions. Decorative metal punches may also be used to create a pattern or even form an image. We sell round punches and square punches, ball-end, hollow-end, fuller-end, and many other types of punches and drifts. Some have wooden handles while others have metal. We also sell several types of punches meant to be held with your hand but be careful not to put your hand between the punch and the hammer. Ouch!
Most of our blacksmith punch sets are designed for use in forging processes. However, when punching through pieces it is recommended that you use a bolster or some type of punching block in order to get the full life of the punch. In addition to punches, you will also find our chisels for sale, including cold chisels, pointed chisels, square punches, diamond punches, and more.
When comparing our products and forging supplies to other brands, make sure the material used is the same.
