4% Nickel Fine Mesh Powdered Metal in 1 lb. container
For making canister Damascus.
Chemistry:
- 4% Nickel (Ni)
- 0.8% Carbon (c)
Nickel powdered metal is used to make Damascus canisters. Heat treatment compatible with 1095, 15N20 and other steels commonly used in damascus production. 4800kc powder is used for the bright layers of your damascus as the nickel content will resist the etching process.
Note: Pure nickel is not a great material for thread sealing, but since 4800kc contains 0.8% carbon, it hardens and behaves like steel 15N20
