These cross peen hammers are available in 1.75 lb., and 2 lb. They are made of 4140 alloy steel and are hardened on the Striking surfaces of the hammer. The body of the hammer is slightly softer, which absorbs some of the vibration caused when the hammer strikes another object.
Flatland forge Cross Peens are perfectly balanced. By balanced we mean, they are the same weight on the peen side as on the flat side. This is what keeps the blacksmith cross peen hammer from wanting to twist in your hand.
